Satellite Train consists of Michael Paynter, Susan Turner, Randy Jacobs, Shane O’Mara, Jamie Muhoberac, John McAll, Pasquale Monea, John Watson, Chris Chaney, Gregg Bissonette, and Tori La Rosa. The band brings together a range of artists who strive to shape the style, which is clearly evident in this newest single.
In 2024, the group released “Superstar” and “Wings,” both reaching the top of the DRT independent charts. “Wings” peaked at number 11 and remained on the chart for almost a full year, and in 2025, Satellite Train presented the Melbourne Sessions Multiverse Experience, from which this newest single emerges, showcasing exquisite soft rock.
With influences from Tina Turner in her most sophisticated moments, “James Dean” is a captivating song with easily assimilated melodies, where the group’s cohesion is clearly portrayed, with a very well-crafted production that enchants with its perfectly balanced timbres.
Following with smooth guitars that deliver solid foundations, the music excels in its rhythm section with just the right vibe, in addition to keyboards providing that almost AOR background. Balanced female vocals bordering on growls complement the sonic tone, which also features a beautiful and distinctive chorus. And if you think the song is about the iconic king of rebellion, actor James Dean, you’re absolutely right, with his family’s blessing!
