The band

Satellite Train features a talented lineup of musicians from both Australian and American bands, such as Michael Paynter of Icehouse, John Watson of James Reyne, John McCall of The Black Sorrows, Randy Jacobs and Shane O’Mara of Paul Kelly, Pasquale Monea of Stephen Cummings, Jamie Muhoberac of John Mayer, Chris Chaney of Miley Cyrus, and Gregg Bissonette of Ringo Starr.

Michael Paynter

M. Paynter

Michael Paynter is one of the best lead vocalists to emerge from Australia in recent years. Satellite Train features some of his best vocal performances. Besides being a member of Icehouse, he is also a member of Jimmy Barnes. It is his creative contribution and versatile vocal abilities that bind Satellite Train together.

John
McCall

Among John McCAll’s many talents, he is a pianist, composer, arranger, and producer. The piano playing of John is an essential element of Satellite Train’s signature sound. He has performed with some of Australia’s best artists, including The Black Sorrows.

Randy
Jacobs

One of the most talented guitarists to emerge from the United States is Randy Jacobs. As well as co-writing Paul Kelly’s song “Deep Water”, Randy Jacobs has performed with many of America’s most renowned musicians, such as B.B. King and Willie Nelson.

Chris
Chaney

Pasquale Monea shares bass playing duties with Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction. With his unique and melodious sound, Pasquale contributes to the signature Satellite Train sound. His style is very melodic and he is constantly experimenting.

Jamie
Muhoberac

Gregg Bisonnette

Jamie Muhoberac, a keyboard player from Los Angeles, California, is one of the most creative and talented in the industry. As a member of John Mayers’ band, he has also worked with Jane’s Addiction and has recently completed a tour with My Chemical Romance. Satellite Trains’ signature sound is largely attributed to his haunting and melodious keyboard style.

 

Gregg Bissonette is a jazz and rock drummer from the United States. Gregg shares the duties of playing the drums with Australian drummer John Watson. Gregg has been a member of Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band since 2008. The precision and style of his performance have become an integral part of Satellite Train’s sound.

 

Susan
Turner

Singer and songwriter Susan Turner is from Melbourne, Australia. It is Susan’s moody and melodious vocal style that perfectly complements Satellite Train’s signature sounds. The creative input she provided and her quest for perfection helped raise the bar for Satellite Train.

Shane
O'Mara

Australian musician and record producer Shane O’Mara. The guitar duties are shared by Shane and Randy Jacobs, both of whom have played with some of the most talented musicians in the world, including Paul Kelly.

John
Watson

John Watson is regarded as one of Australia’s leading drummers. A former member of Australian Crawl, he has also played with James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, and Men At Work. He provides a driving energy and rhythm to Satellite Train’s more live sounding tracks, which enhances the sound and feel of the music.
